Day 1 -
Lunchtime departure on Eurostar from London St
Pancras to Brussels, then onward connection to Köln
for an overnight stay.
Day 2 -
Departure after breakfast , on a direct ICE train to
Hannover. Here we change to the regional service to
Wernigerode, where we will stay for 5 nights.
Day 3 -
We join the Kleinbahnromantik Gala weekend hosted by
HSB. Today the plan as we know it at the moment is
road transfer Wernigerode to Quedlinburg. Steam from
there to Eisfelder Talmühle then to Wernigerode.
There will also be a chance of night photography at
Westerntor station with 3 steam engines.
Day 4 -
Day 2 of the Gala and we should expect steam from
Wernigerode to the top of the Brocken, back to Elend
and return to Wernigerode. It is hoped the
Salonwagen will be part of the train formation.
Day 5 -
Free day to explore Wernigerode in depth or to take
another train ride. Please note that any travel
today is NOT included in the cost of the holiday.
Day 6 -
Departure after breakfast and returning to Köln by
the same route as Day 2. From Köln we take a local
service on to Aachen for our overnight stay.
Day 8 -
An easy journey via Brussels and Eurostar will bring
us back into London St Pancras early afternoon.
